All -
I’m pretty much loving all things alsace (especially in the Pinot Gris category) and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on some great case or six bottle buys I can make.
Just grabbed a sixer of 2000 Trimbach Hommage a Jeanne but interested in the $35-$50 price range…
Thanks in advance!
Boxler is stunning and usually at or around 30.
Boxler is good, I agree. Also like Scherer and Albert Mann.
No idea on prices now, but Zind Humbrecht Clos Windsbuhl was in low $40’s last vintage I bought about 5 years ago. Alsatian Pinot Gris just doesn’t strike me as the type of wine that is going to have wild price fluctuations though.
I haven’t tried it yet, but I grabbed a couple bottles of the 2004 Ringenbach-Moser Pinot Gris off the clearance rack at the store for $9.50 a bottle. At that price there really isn’t much down side.

You can’t beat that price - will look all these up!
I like Bott-Geyl, Weinbach, Mann and Schoffit, all great Alsatian producers.
Weinbach PG has really shone at recent tastings I have attended here in Alberta.
Weinbach, Boxler, Mann all good. Recent taste through of Bott-Geyl’s line-up was disappointing. I don’t particularly recall the pinot gris.
Matt,
Welcome to the club. Another thing about them, at least for my taste is that they age magnificently and they match with the broadest food styles of any white I have encountered. Lots of good recs here but, look for the Trimbach Reserve Personelle as well as their regular bottling.
