Looking for some Suduiraut and other sauternes in half bottles with 20+ years on them. Also looking for ‘88 specifically, as its birth year. Let me know what you got. Thanks
Is there a reason for Suduiraut specifically? I’m not certain about 1988 but some of their vintages from that era are famously unreliable (particularly 1990). From 1988, Climens and Rieussec are great and usually not crazy in price.
I always found the 88 to be great and in the house style, crazy that it could still be so unctuous and have all the acid classic of the vintage.
Thats fair, should have gone broader, doesnt have to be Suduiraut, should be aged sauternes in general. I like suduiraut, which was why i mentioned. Should have been a starting point.
I look for Suduiraut as well and regularly find 375s available for around 30-35 USD/btl. Wine-Searcher is a great resource for these, 2003s should be readily available. Drinking well now, though I probably want 5-10 more years on them.
Have since acquired some, but always looking for more. What ya got?
Ive got a 1988 Doisy Daene Barsac in a 375. Label is a bit wrinkled from humidity because I overloaded a wine fridge in my house but storage should be great. Got it from a friend last year I drink with every Friday night who bought on release and stores his wines impeccably.
88 d’Yquem is truly spectacular.
Sounds interesting! Are you interested in letting it go?
Sure. Where are you located?
Hey David, located in Arlington, VA, just outside of DC
Shipping window approaching, Looking for more. This week has reminded me how much I enjoy these. While 375 is most practical, will consider 750
