Yes, I was confused on that as well. I have dealt successfully with the person posting as Kevin Baker on eBob but, no idea on K. Baker (who is the person posting here).
Thanks all for sticking up for me. I have changed my name to Kevin Richard Baker on ebob to keep things consistent on both sites.

You can change your name, you can change you website, but you can not change your history. Kevin Baker over here is K. Baker over there. Check Commerce Corner on RP and look for the feedback on K Baker. Then make your choice. Here is the same post on RP.

Whitehead vs Baker
When I first read these post my inclination was to lay low but I feel I have had personal experience with both and therefore can offer an unbiased firsthand account.
My dealing with Jordan was excellent in every way. He honored a price in an auction which was quite favorable for me.
On the other hand my experience with K Baker was poor in every way. Bought 06 magnum of Schrader Old Sparky which when i called to discuss shipping he informed me of the added bonus that it was signed by the winemaker. The bottle arrived and it was an unsigned 05 instead. When i complained he was perplexed. Impossible to make this mistake. A signed bottle, impossible to get that wrong! He agreed to send another bottle of wine to help make up for this error, since returning the wine wasnt an option, and it took forever to get it. Only after i threatened to "out him " on this board did he suddenly reappear.
As I said I am only relaying these stories since they are truly firsthand.
I would gladly do business with Jordan Whitehead again but recommend that K. Baker be avoided.

first he offers to donate wine for the anna mckinney auction and never ships it. Then 3+ weeks ago wants to buy from me. first said was away a few days and just sent the check. Then said numerous times that the check will be there any day now. 2 weeks later, no check and no responses to e-mail or PM since.

Don’t trust him, don’t sell to him. He’s not good to deal with. I should have checked the feedback section before selling to him. There are 3 others who have given him bad feedback.
He told me A MONTH AGO that he wanted to buy wines that I was selling. He told me he sent out the check and it should arrive hereshortly. When it didn’t come, I pm’d him and he said it takes time to come from Canada, 2 weeks later it still didn’t show up. NOW I get a PM saying the check just came back to him for some reason and he’s going to have to Pass.
HOW DID THE CHECK COME BACK TO HIM??? No one else has had this problem. I’ve sold to a bunch of different people and NO ONE’s check was supposedly returned. I don’t think he ever sent it out.
Do not deal with him. (I have all my pm’s saved so if you try to dispute any of this, I will publish them.)

Kevin, i am glad you made some people happy. Fact is, my call log does not show any incoming calls from a number i don’t recognize. My unanswered calls go to voice mail and you left no message(s). To be clear, i lost no money as this was to be cash on delivery. I just wasted my time on a busy friday and i was a little peeved. No need to spend further time on this.

no check, no reply after 18 days, so i sent a polite inquiry as to your intentions on 10-15-08 @ 3:42pm. again no reply, nada. yet, maybe you don’t realize that when you log on, you leave a footprint. i know you have been on line a great deal since i sent my inquiry. in fact, you’ve even had the time to start the controversial (read: ridiculous) kosta browne allocation thread since i tried to contact you again.
some might say, don’t hassle the newbie (only 24 posts), but, let this be a lesson to all the kids out there. so you had to bail; ok, but at least man up, be polite, and send a pm explaining yourself. don’t just act like nothing happened. fortunately, your check didn’t represent the last installment on my mom’s wheelchair, and i’ll get over it. however, this is the wrong foot to get off on around here.

Had the same exact experience as Nowak about 2 months ago. Made an offer to buy, then heard nothing.
My suspicion is that this is a “ghost-name” of sorts for someone who is trying to push prices lower by making offers. Just a thought.
Anyhow…avoid at all costs.

k.baker and Kevin Richard Baker are two different individuals with the same name. Kevin Richard Baker has plenty of good feedback over on ebob. I would not hesistate to trade with the latter.

It looks like the canada guy has now stolen the good Kevin’s name from Ebob and used it here. Even more reason to stay away from him.

Kevin Baker from VA has changed his name here and on ebob to Kevin Richard Baker, which is confirmed by checking any of his old posts from ebob. He has great feedback. Post #4 here is from the VA based Baker, so the change of his name is useful and not deceitful as I thought one of the responses implied.
Hopefully everyone will do their due diligence before trading with anyone, even me.

the post regarding the name change was for K. Baker. He came over here and registered as kevin baker. While i do believe his name is actually kevin, makes it even more confusing than before and puts VA Kevin in a bad spot.

I think the person who formerly posted as “Kevin Baker” on eBob, the good one, said that he now posts as “Kevin Richard Baker” both there and here. I know, it is confusing, heck I posted in the commerce corner yesterday and then realized the confusion.
