Living in fear of Drinking Windows

Ya, I did it to myself. Only really got into buying wine in 2012, and then doubled down on the 13s because it was a “once in a lifetime” type of year. So of course my fridges are almost at the limit and a lot of it is 2013s which were bought to be aged. Drank through all but a few of the 12s. So now what? Start drinking 14s before the 13s to save them? Mo wine, mo problems.

Similar situation. Just a couple 2012’s left. Will drink 2014’s before 2013 per a few winemakers suggestions, but I still don’t feel like the 2014’s are ready… who knows, I could be wrong because I haven’t tried most of them! See OP :frowning:

Excellent advice. Unless one wants to buy aged wines on the secondary market, this is an excellent way to enjoy a variety of wines while waiting for the agers to come on line. I drank a lot of Zin and Napa Cab, then Rhones while waiting for my Bordeaux to age.
