That’s probably still a good wine. Souverain was a quality producer in the early 1970s and some of the old style zins from back then continue to be interesting, like Joseph Swan.
Tedious task. Best left for a rainy day.

Leonard, I think it was you who brought a bottle of that wine to an event I attended more than 10 years ago. One of the most memorable Napa wines I’ve ever tasted, perhaps the most memorable.
I’ve had the 1970 and loved it. But, 1972 was a weak vintage, so I figure it’s just for looking at (‘72 is my birth year).
Joe Swan made some wonderful Zins in 1972. Have hope!
