Lillian 2008 Offer Question

Hi All - Quick question (and one that I hope gets me started posting more on these boards - It’s been a while for me!

Something kicked in this morning and made me realize that I hadn’t heard anything about the 2008 Lillian offer and was wondering if I had missed it. I didn’t recall any emails but logged onto the site the morning to see this message.

“The 2010 Offering is now sold out. Our next release will be available on April 1st, 2011.” But there was no wine up for purchase.

I’m guessing that they haven’t released it yet and I haven’t missed anything but wondering if anyone on the board had confirmation. Mainly so I can rest easy. [cheers.gif]

Thanks Murry - Just checked and the '07 vintage is what I ordered last year which shipped in November. So checking on the '08 vintage. But now that I look a little closer, I placed that order in July '10 which might mean its still to come.

If memory services, Maggie sends this out in the May/June timeframe and looks to ship around November.

I don’t think there is a method to Maggie’s madness. It seems like it’s been about a year since I unpacked the 07/06 BL. It’s probably about time for the 08/07 BL.

Thanks all. I got thrown off by the April 1st, 2011 date they have up on their website. Just glad to know I didn’t miss anything.

Last year I was concerned, but received my offer about a month after the initial one. Assumed to be in the second wave as I had only signed up the previous year. I have not even received the pre-offer e-mail yet.

I’ve been on a few years and get a decent allocation. She hasn’t offered yet.

The 2007 syrah and 2006 Blue Label syrah are sold out and I am, as usual, a little late getting this year’s offering out to you. I am getting the 2011 offering ready to roll and will have wine available on June 7th…I promise!

'07 Blue Label $95/$200
'08 Syrah $62/$125

All including shipping. A reasonable increase on the Blue Label ($75 last year) given the quality and the fact that shipping is now included and the Syrah is unchanged despite including shipping.

I thought the '07 was her best effort to date so I expect the '07 Blue Label will be fantastic.

Production stats from the offering e-mail:

“And while there is a little less of the 2008 syrah (450 cases) than I was hoping for, I was able to bottle a few more cases of the 2007 Blue Label with this go around. At 103 cases, I am finally able to offer at least a small allocation to every active member of the mailing list.”

The first no brainer thing I did all day.

Wording is interesting on the order form. When you request an additional bottle of the 3 pack combo, I am assuming you are asking for another 3 pack? If so, I would have liked the option to just ask for additional particular bottles.

I thought the same. I’ve bought the last few years and to be tied to three packs is a little disappointing. I understand getting the blue label to everyone - and appreciate it - but why not offer additional single bottles of the black label '08 in addition to the three pack?

Perhaps, but your per bottle cost is now in the Saxum realm. Thus it is more expensive than Carlisle, Bedrock, Copain, Cayuse, Betz, Grand Reve, etc.
