Yes he does, and I order from them all the time. Browsing their German selection is dangerous!
Try David Strange’s piece on 2011 Germany: http://elitistreview.com/2012/06/20/howard-ripley-german-2011-riesling-tasting/
As others have said, 2011 is a very friendly vintage. Liked a lot of wines, and the dry and later harvested wines were for the most part very impressive. I wasn’t as excited by most of the Kabinett I tried, but there were some very nice Spätlese. Agreed with a lot of David’s impressions (we were at the same tasting).
Another resource worth looking at is Jean Fisch and David Rayer’s fantastic (free) quarterly newsletter called Mosel Fine Wines - they’ve got a new issue coming out later this month that’ll review the 2011 vintage. It’s worth signing up to get the pdfs - they really know their stuff, and it’s the best resource I’ve found to get timely and detailed reviews on the VDP auctions.

thanks for the link. i signed up for that newsletter, which looks solid. man i sure missed out on this tasting you both mention.
The tasting is Terry’s annual road show, usually in NYC in June, and a few stops across the country.

Thanks again, I just got the 41-page pdf report on 2011, complete with sugar and acid level charts, all sorts of helpful info. This is a really great newsletter!
