Breaking news: a lot of the central and south coast Rhône style wines are awesome with age. Try some Santa Barbara County Syrahs with 10-15 years on them.

This is a North Coast example, but Brian S. brought the 1987 ESJ Les Côtes Sauvage (GSM from Sonoma, Mendocino, and Napa) to a dinner last night and it was delicious, with just the right touch o’ funk.

I’ve had a 17 JBV and G2, both were fantastic with a short decant. According to Justin the 17s are great early drinkers.
