Lentil Soup with Spicy Salame and Buffalo Cheese & Sausage with Zinfandel

Tonight’s supper was Progresso Lentil Soup with added garlic along with Spicy Sausage and Buffalo Cheese rolls with Mozzarello cheese. Wine was a 2000 Sobon Estate Signature Select Fiddletown Zinfandel - cork saturated a rough half inch, dark ruby in color; good ripe red and dark berry fruit with barely adequate acidity; and a medium long ripe berry fruit finish. It was an enjoyable combinaton with the soup and cheese rolls.

Then for dessert we has Tahitian vanilla and Belgian chocolate gelatos with Chocolate-Mint Sauce. We also had Grand Marnier for Carollee and Brandy for me; with Pepperidge Farm Bordeaux cookies. This was a nice finish to a good light meal while watching the LA Phlharmonic playing Gershwin’s ‘An American in Paris’, ‘Someone to Watch Over Me’, and ‘Rhapsody in Blue’; with Herbie Hancock playing piano and Gustavo Dudamel conducting.
