Tonight’s supper, even though there was no tasting at Susan’s tonight, was a tin of Progresso Lentil Soup, enhanced with a quarter round of Spicy Chorizo and a cup of rich vegetable stock. It was enjoyed with a 1988 Ridge Petite Sirah ‘York Creek’ ‘Devil’s Hill’ - Fill an inch down from the capsule, cork saturated a quarter inch; initially without food, it had some light tannins; dark garnet in color, rich notes of dark berry and cassis fruit, barely adequate acidity; with a medium long dark fruit finish. It was enjoyable with the soup, although a bit tannic without the soup.
Then for dessert we had some ginger creme cookies, Pepperidge Farm Bordeaux cookies with glasses of water.
