Winemaker Mounir Saouma was extremely high on his 09 range when these were being tasted from barrel. Now they’re being delivered to customers, I wonder if anyone has ventured to take a peek at any of them…
Mine are all safely stashed away where I can’t waste them…
Dan,
Mine, too - at 8,000 miles remove. But what’s great about this community is the number of people who are ready to “take one for the team”. So I’m not giving up hope…
Just wondering - wih all the 09s opened at La Paulee - were there any Le Moine wines on show?
Wish I could help - didn’t taste a single '09 Le Moine last week…
Can’t imagine a less than stellar wine and would buy blind.

I didn’t see any
Just seen Galloni’s reviews of 2010 Le Moine - he’s clearly a fan. Generally, I noticed a strong correlation between his likes and those of Tanzer, and perhaps not many differences with Allen Meadows - though of the 3 he is the least enamoured with Drouhin’s style.
I see Tanzer has just seen published his in-bottle reviews of 09 Burgundies, and at the top end he seems to have liked what he tried of Le Moine. This closing comment on the Mazis-Chabertin - “a great wine that’s sexy and balanced from the outset” - suggests this is one of those 09s that could be enjoyed from the get-go. But as someone pointed out, allocations are so hard to come by, that an early sacrifice would be a tough call…
Having bought le moine for a while I lost out this year as the merchant stopped dealing with them. Can’t be bothered to fight my way back up the list with another merchant!
