You guys have to add in Curt Schalchlin and what he’s doing with the Grenache grape in West Paso. It has been stated on these boards before but let me say it again San Liege is quality.

Ken Zinns: Brian G r a f s t r o m:I would add the following Paso-area producers to the list of those already mentioned who produce at least one Grenache-dominated bottling that is worth trying:
Graves Winegrowers
Denner
Villa Creek
McPrice Myers
Terry Hoage
Alta Maria (theirs may be the best CA Central Coast Grenache I’ve ever had … it literally left me speechless)I’d add Hug Cellar’s new “el Maestro” bottling to that list too - it’s 80% Grenache, sourced from Cedar Lane Vineyard in Arroyo Seco and from Santa Barbara Highlands.

I’ll be in Paso on Monday. Maybe I’ll try to drop-in for a taste or two.
I’m from the Bob Senn school of Grenache. There is Alban Grenache - the guy who put it on the map in CA - and there is everybody else.
