LastBottleWines.com (Last Bottle Wines) Deal Discussion Thread (Part 2)

Its not so much the resolution, but rather the communication. I hear back from them once a day and they are always open ended emails with no direct action. I also had a box that was damaged with 8 bottles in it. They cannot replace the bottles so they offered me a refund or a credit. I asked to see what other wines they have that are similar, they said they would get me a list, but that was three days ago.

Frustrating I’m sure.
Take the money and run. Spend where you feel you get better service. Use the refund on Berserker Day.

But they did reply and give you options for an issue that wasn’t their fault. On the issue that was their fault, curious how the return process works. Assuming you got 2 wrong bottles out of a larger shipment, do you return the two in the original box?

That was my thinking on using the funds for Berserker Day. As for the return process, they just mentioned sending me a return label. I have boxes from the original shipments and some others I have got from them in the past, but they are all either 12 bottle of 6 bottle boxes. I am awaiting more clear instructions from them on the return.

Ive made many purchases from LB, FB, and last bubbles, never had an issue, but this gives me pause. Sorry you are having to deal with this.

Wonder if sharing link to this thread in email response would trigger some corrective action.

I haven’t had any major issues, but inquiries or minor requests have always been met with what I would call a flippant attitude. It is what it is.

Cory Wagner is a BB. Partner in LB, FB and First Bubbles.

Let him know.

Eden Rift Terraces PN up for a legitimately fantastic price ($22 on MSRP of $68).

Good deal sure but can you (or anyone) vouch for the wine?

That winery - yes. Quite good - wouldn’t post otherwise :). LB had one of their chards up a month ago that I missed on. Triangulate my personal opinion with critics, etc. Avg score 92-94.

Any concern for smoke? I can’t remember if the Cienega Valley was affected by the fires.

In for 6 - I can’t get in trouble for good Pinot :grinning:

Haven’t seen any mention of smoke taint in reviews (professional or amateur)

I actually wasn’t able to find any reviews on it in CellarTracker or elsewhere.

Looked at the 2020 fire map. They are located on the other side of the ridge from Salinas. Doubtful about any taint.

Bedrock made a '20 Cabernet and Riesling from nearby vineyard (Enz and Wirz). If you trust their cred.

I found this post about the 2020 harvest at Enz. I think there is definitely some smoke taint risk. Was about to pull the trigger but I think I’ll hold powder for beserker day.

Simon,

It’s all about timing of harvest. I know the Pinot at Enz came off before there were any smoke taint issues and the Zin was fine but the Mourvèdre was definitely affected. I haven’t tried this wine so I can’t speak to it, but at $22? That’s not a terrible risk.

Wow awesome! I didn’t know quoting the post would summon you, but your input is greatly valued. Fingers crossed then. Less than $22 with the coupon code someone posted above that appears to be still working.

Perhaps @Trevor_C could offer some insight?

Well now I’ve gone and done it – tried to put in the order but it said “someone already got the last bottle.” Refreshed and was able to put in the order. But looking at my email, it appears my first order did go through!

Time to test out that deteriorating customer service that everyone is talking about.
