2012 Pierre Moncuit. I wonder why theyre burying stuff like this
I’d guess it’s stuff from First Bottle that didn’t sell.
I never buy anything during these but this time:
2 Rose & Arrow Black Walnut
1 Rose & Arrow Amity Hills
1 Rose & Arrow Hopewell Hills
2 Robert Craig Howell Mountains
2 Patz & Hall Moses-Hall
And best part is I haven’t really spent much…I may try to fill out a case with more of the same if anything comes back up.
The past two marathons, they have extended the sale Saturday and Sunday with all of the offerings from a specific winery that they featured heavily. It was Conn Creek in April, forget who it was in August. So later today you might see a rotating selection of just Rose & Arrow, Delectus or Patz & Hall.
We shall see!
You called it. Patz all day.
The Little Boot Pinot looked interesting…anyone tried that wine?
Any idea why?
Not too familiar with their wines overall. Worth a shot at the price?
Ch. St. Michelle sold the winery back to the original owners, possible inventory wasn’t part of the sale so they’re dumping it, good wines
I wish that they made a Syrah that I could snatch up! But they do not.
I scored a couple Rose & Arrow. I would have bought more if I had been around, but I have things to do other than checking a computer screen all day.
Wish I liked Patz and Hall more. They appear to be genuinely good deals.
What about their wines do you not particularly like?
Patz & Hall tends toward the ripness, oak, cola, etc that turns me off to most Russian River and other Sonoma wines. They are well made and flavorful, just too much.
It’s been forever since I had a Patz and Hall, but recall them being a solid producer. Just happened to jump onto LB exactly once yesterday and the ‘18 Cherry Ridge Chard was up @ $15 a pop. Could not pass THAT up.
And the Mail Road offerings seemed esp alluring, pulled the trigger on the ‘18 Mt Carmel Vnyd PN @ $34.
The bottom line at LB just read “Conn Creek Day!?”
I bought 4-bottles of that Chardonnay as well, seemed like a great deal for $15! I also grabbed 4-bottles of the Ritchie Vineyard Chard for $22……
Cornerstone Cellars Cabernet, if you like modern Napa Cab, don’t miss out!!! I’m gonna be a buyer, even though I am way out of space. ![]()
I grabbed 2 Cornerstones, Beckstoffer Georges III for $36…
The one labeled rutherford right? I grabbed 3. Maybe it should have been a case - we’ll see. Ive never had the wine.
I had the Cornerstone Cab Franc recently, oaked to the point of being varietally unrecognizable.
The reviews are not good, looking on winesearcher and cellartracker. 40 seemed steep to take a flyer for me anyway. Although i am a sucker for a lot of oak
