I’m with you here. It’s all good, especially for the price.
This thread implored me to open another 2006 Cain Five.
Give the 2006 a 1-2 hr decant and let it shine. Absolutely fantastic wine in every way! So glad I have 2 more bottles.
I’ve had a chance to try Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars Cellarius Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, #I and II. I (valley floor) was very well aged with fine tannins, smooth and balanced. My wife really liked it since she had several glasses and rarely has more than 1 or 2. Too aged for my taste as I like more tannic structure. II (hillside) had tannins, so was much more to my liking. I expect III (mountain) to be even more tannic and plan to drink soon. I would give the 2 wines scores of 92-93, along the lines of what the Cellarius wines have been receiving from pro reviewers. I can’t see many of these being sold out of the tasting room for $150 a pop and for me, paying $50 is too much, but it is interesting trying and comparing the grape vine elevations.
