In for 6.
To those of you experiencing brett in the Cain V, in what sense do you mean? Barnyard? Band aid? Something else?
Thanks.
I get barnyard. It’s only on the nose…once I take a sip I don’t get any of the barnyard funk retronasally.
I second the barnyard element. The Barnyard diminishes with more air exposure. It’s an interesting accent, but like a slight green bell profile, you probably either hate it or love it.
anyone worried about it being long in the tooth?
What’s the word on today’s offer, CT doesn’t have many reviews: Grape Culture Cabernet Sauvignon Oakview Vineyard?
Barnyard for me as well. Like the others, the longer it decants, the less I get of it. A little in the taste, but mostly on the nose. My main problem, though, is with the corks. I would love to have one that didn’t fall apart just to see if it has any effect on my enjoyment of the wine. I have only had to pour one out so far as it was gone.
Never too old for me.
I have the same question…..this sounds like a steal at $45/bottle……also, anyone have a valid discount code?
I may just take a flier on 3…
I’ve drunk 2 of the 2006s (the only 2 I bought, unfortunately). First cork disintegrated and it was good, not great. Second one cork was more intact and it was spectacular. Bought the Glasvin Ah So on Vindependence Days for future cork issues.
An expensive solution, but consider investing in The Durand wine opener if you regularly open older bottles with brittle corks. It seems expensive until you go to open a bottle worth much more than the opener and the cork crumbles on the first pull. We all know that feeling.
Edit: here’s a video on how it works
So what’s the difference between the Durand and the Glasvin? The Vintage Wine Opener (Pre-order) – Glasvin
I would have recommended this as a reasonable option, but the Glasvin is an even better price point.
Have glasvin, confirm its quality

I approvedof the Durand message for serious collectors.
This is the exact ah-so that I purchased from Amazon 7 days ago that broke first time I used it. Got my money back and do not recommend. I even watched the videos on how to use it, so I used it correctly.
I got the following email this morning. My delivery location is my employer, about 20 -30 minutes from American Canyon. Already have too much Elivette so won’t be buying. I wonder how close to the pick up spot you need to be to get the email. The links below work for me.
"Well, I have good news for you! For our Northern California friends only — since you’re within driving distance of our Napa warehouse — we’re releasing a rare collection of Elivette in 6-liter format.
These Imperial-size bottles hold the equivalent of 8 standard bottles. We’re proud to have 11 of the most celebrated Elivette vintages from the Spring Mountain District. And we should whisper this part…they are literally thousands of dollars off the full retail price.
These have been expertly cellared since release and are in perfect condition. This is the real deal, and this is not a drill! Here’s what you need to know:
→ Pickup only at Last Bottle HQ in American Canyon (Will Call) within 30 days. No shipping, no local delivery.
→ You can mix and match 6L bottles in your cart, but you cannot combined these bottles with other wines, like our Daily Offers. That said, if you have separate Will Call orders waiting for you (perhaps a Marathon haul?!?!), by all means clear out your trunk and make one triumphant trip!
→ The quantity of each vintage varies considerably, and some are extremely limited. When they’re gone, they’re gone — forever.
Whether you’re stocking up for the holidays, want to make a wedding unforgettable, have a milestone celebration, or just have a table full of people who deserve something special, this is your moment.
