LastBottleWines.com (Last Bottle Wines) Deal Discussion Thread (Part 2)

My samples size is small but received the email as I’ve purchased a few times from First Bottle. $29.95 with free shipping for 6+ bottles. Seems like a solid deal.

FB ships the same way as LB, refrigerated trucks until the last mile and then add ice packs. Should be golden, but I’m in a big city.

I didn’t realize FB provided that service. Definitely good info! In for 6. Thank you!

I just got the offer, very tempting. Don’t know why sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t get the offers. This one from First Bottle.

I think you’re getting Conned

Where/how do you get those offers?

Anybody up for or know anything about the sleeper cab going on now?

That was fast, LOL! I picked up three to see.

I have no idea. I randomly get special offers. Others on this thread received the same offer before me.

How FB picks and chooses - who knows?

what did you think of the Cain NV?

Sharing a recent podcast that popped into my feed. Haven’t listened, but features Last Bottle.

The Taste with Doug Shafer - The Future of Wine Sales is Already Here

Had a Last Bottle order ship yesterday. I got the notification through We Ship Express, but it says FedEx is the carrier. I added ice packs, but…it was traveling through places over 95 degrees today. Odds it’s on a temperature controlled truck? I find the shipping description from Last Bottle pretty ambiguous.

Need more info than what you’re giving.

Final destination? Where did it pass through?

I was pretty ticked off I missed a delivery and called FedEx and they said they do not use temperature controlled trucks.

$200 dollar bottles…

I may be lucky as they don’t seem heat damaged but one I popped seemed ever so slightly off.

Regardless, yeah, FedEx sucks for wine.

Final destination is Newport Beach, CA. I saw it passed through Lost Hills, CA.

I don’t want to bum you out but I lived in Lost Hills for a couple years and whatever it shows as the temp online it’s actually a few degrees hotter.

The ice pack might save you but Newport Beach where you don’t need AC it is not. Those wines sit in the truck before getting back to the storage facility and FedEx doesn’t give a you know what.

Basically, roll of the dice. Pop one when it comes in and find out…

Probably not climate controlled, but given that it’s in state, the ice packs will probably keep it cool until it gets on your local truck.

FWIW, I received this email from Last Bottle regarding another order I placed yesterday: “I want to assure you that your wines will be shipped in a temperature-controlled truck to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. … Given the extreme temperatures between Napa Valley and your location, we take great care to protect the quality of our wines during transit.”

I have to ask: is your name really Will Power? If so, that’s spectacular.

Willpower is definitely in short supply on this board, and me in particular.

Well, I followed up with Last Bottle and said “hey, tracking says you shipped FedEx ground shipping, which is not temperature controlled.”

Their response: “I want to clarify that for shipments within California, we do not offer temperature-controlled truck deliveries. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused regarding our shipping practices.”
