LastBottleWines.com (Last Bottle Wines) Deal Discussion Thread (Part 2)

Yeah, I bought a few. Was mildly upset that I only bought one bottle of Morlet during the marathon, so had make up for it. Will look for the other Cabernet in the future.

I wonder if they will mystery that bottle as well. That’s probably too big of a label to have be anything more than a mystery or flash up for a moment.

I’m glad someone openly described Cain Five as bretty wines. Thats something I don’t really tolerate unless it’s literally Pegau. I just dumped an otherwise nice spanish Tempranillo because I just couldn’t take that.

I would think 5-10 more years would be a safe bet. As I said, lots of oak but very ripe and lush, not particularly tannic, and I don’t have a ton of experience with that style of wine with two decades+ of age.

TOR Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Vaca Ridge Vineyard Napa Valley 2021 on FirstBottles today if you were looking for one. Cheers!!!

Looks like 2017 Elivette now? $39. CT notes are quite positive. I had two already, grabbed three more.

pretty sure its another cain 5. with the “they went their own way…”

although the app is not pulling current offer only the website has 17 mystery.

App still shows goulard club brut

Not mine, app currently showing mystery.

If you look at producer information under “Nerdy Details”, it confirms its a Cain Five.

I should have checked here first! Oh well, hopefully I like the Cain Five

LB must be back on track with their post-marathon shipping. A label was created for my shipment of yesterday’s Oakville mystery Cab!

Great.

UPS lost my shipment again for the last marathon. Not sure what’s up with UPS and mismanaging the orders.

This is confirmed.

Do you think they at the winery pronounce that in the French way, pa-syo-ne-mɑ̃?

Or is it anglicized like “passion-ment?”

Very nice. Glad I grabbed two. Excited to try

It’s a very slick wine. I like a bit more character, but this was silky and pretty versatile. Probably worth what you paid or a bit more.

Had the cain nv14 tonight
Decanted for 30m or so. Nose has some baryard funk, nice ruby color with slight bricking. Very dry mild red fruit on the palate with leather and earth mixed in with plenty of acid.
Went well with smoky al pastore steak tacos. Def a food wine at this point.
Some may prefer it at this stage others may consider past its prime?

Based on this, we’re opening up our bottle tomorrow night with BBQ. Thanks for the note.
