I have had a bottle of the Perseid 2012 Meteor that is on for sale now. I think it’s very good and decent QPR for the $49 they are asking.
I’m considering the Perseid but they want 3 bottles for free shipping and I already blew out my budget on a $150 WTSO 3 bottle Stag’s Leap 2012 cab purchase.
Berserker Day in less than 3 weeks. There’s your real flash site. Keep your powder dry.
I’ve tried to find this berzerker day last year and was unsuccessful. Is there a link to get in?
this should work

My first purchase from Last Bottle is the 2020 Cupano Brunello.
Introduced to this wine a few months ago in Montalcino and it was phenomenal. Hadn’t seen it locally, so really excited to get my hands on it.
My marathon order came in. Rather, 5 of 7 cases came in and I am not sure where the other two are.
Regardless, I’m sipping on the 2013 Elivette. Not bad but nothing special. A nice cab for sure but at its peak or slightly past in my view. Still looks vibrant with little bricking but the nose is a bit muted. Not anywhere near 96 points but maybe 93 is fair.
I can’t imagine paying $100+ for this but at $35 it’s a buy. I would not buy the 2013 again and go for a more recent vintage though.
2013 is weird. By a considerable margin the worst Elivette I’ve had. 2004 from a .375 drinks way better than a 2013 from .750. So don’t judge the older bottles by 2013.
I do want to clarify, “worst Elivette” is still damn good. It’s just a different style.
2013 Elivette is probably the most polarizing of the vintages that were sold. Half of the TNs are like “no fruit”, “too much tannin”, “too bitter”, “past peak”, and the other half are like “don’t touch for 5-10 more years”, “complex”, “structured”, “balanced”. I suspect it is partially the cepage (at 57% cabernet sauvignon, it’s the lowest among many of the vintages), and partially the style. I think if you’re AFWE, you’ll probably like the 2013 Elivette.
more 2013 now avail at last bottle
Call me crazy but I think 2013 is just in a ‘dumb phase’.
In 3-5 years people are going to look back and be like what were we saying about these? These were available for how much and we didn’t buy them?
Agreed- I’ve got 8 or so that I’ll drink over the next few years. Honestly worst case I can think of a lot of wines that I’ve enjoyed much less at the price point we bought these at.
I think as a general statement, 2013 Cabernets were so big that many are still not ready. I’ve had a few even beyond Elivette (which I actually haven’t had, yet), that I thought needed more time.
100% this. 13’ is that vintage that needed the most time to resolve the tannins.
Anyone still waiting for orders from pre-Marathon? Starting to get frustrated, emailed them on Friday and still haven’t heard back.
Yes. I had a single bottle order (yeah I guess it’s small potatoes to them) but it had a shipping label created in October.
emailed a couple weeks ago and they said it should have gone out and they would look into what happened. Heard nothing so emailed again and got a very canned response about being busy. Seemed oblivious that I’d already reached out about this order.
starting to think they are just going to ignore it until I ask to cancel. Wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t have the bottle in stock anymore.
Have hard good luck with service and shipments up to this point so maybe I’ll give a little benefit of doubt.
I’m still waiting on a pre-marathon order as well (2013 Elivette), even though all my other Elivettes have arrived and my recent marathon orders came yesterday.
Got an email response yesterday they’re looking into it, but nothing yet. Label was created back in October like Kevin’s…
I received my last marathon orders a few days ago and have now received everything I’ve ordered from LB. The August marathon orders took a really long time but I’m not complaining since it’s free wine storage for me. And I really need it.
I received an email with tracking from CellarSwift on Friday notifying me that a label was created.
