LastBottleWines.com (Last Bottle Wines) Deal Discussion Thread (Part 2)

Got an email from them yesterday acknowledging that some others also contacted them about heat damaged bottles, so maybe there was a lone pallet that was stored poorly or something. Anyway they gave me a store credit which is fine with me.

Had a bottle of the 202 Mount Eden reserve Chardonnay. Drinking beautifully, smooth but with an acid lift that lingers pleasantly. At room temp, the ripe fruit leads. Wonderful buy !

Pobega’d Teeter Totter Panache 2022. Reminds me of 2022 Chiron Bolt of Cloth. Both well made wines. Surprising similarity given Bolt of Cloth is SVD I believe. To me, not overly extracted or overripe in any manner, but I know that isn’t how everyone feels about these types of wines. It’s a smidge more fruit forward than the Chiron. Pretty nice. It would be a better value at $50, but $60 isn’t terrible. $150 seems nuts. In today’s world, I can see this costing up to $90 but then not selling well at that price point.

Another LB bottle. Another Decanter review. Another “to be published” - granted the date is last year.

I would be more inclined to buy from LB if it had NO expert reviews vs. these “to be published” Decanter reviews. It feels an awful lot like paid for sunshine pumping and paid for advertising.

I opened it and really enjoy it. Not sure it’s necessarily meant to be an aging type wine. It’s pretty nice out of the gate. Not overdone but everything in balance. I presume based on its availability nowhere else that he sold the whole distribution to last bottle. It was enjoyable enough as an early drinker that I’d buy more.

I really like Gracia. Ready to drink now, silky, balanced deliciousness. Bought some more during the marathon. Still tempted to buy more now but Im currently up to my eyeballs in Bordeaux with cases sitting at LB, WTSO, Winebid and K&L.

I got some during the marathon. Also tempted to buy more but since I’ve never tried it I will probably sit tight.

If interested in a vertical comparison the 2016 is availableon wtso.

Any thoughts on this La Massa Giorgio Primo Toscana 2021?

2006 Elivette available at $39. Tempting, but is past its peak?

no idea on peak or not, but the 98 rating from decanter makes me suspicious.

It shouldn’t be, a few folks were on here a few weeks ago, raving about how good the 2004 was! These wines last 25+ years.

Cork issues per many reviews on Cellar Tracker.

I had the 2006 from a 375ml a few weeks ago and it was drinking great, I wouldn’t worry about these wines falling off anytime soon.

My father in law enjoys 06 napa, so i bit on a couple to share with him.

In for 1. Elivette has been a great offer but I’ve purchased too many.

I’ve bought 2 750’s of every vintage offered, so no reason not to do the same with this one.

Have yet to open one. Hope it’s worth the $40.

I’ve had both the 2004 and 2007 recently and they were both excellent.

In for three. Curious to see how these have faired.

I’ll admit that I had a 2006 from a 375 mL bottle and the cork was basically a jigsaw puzzle for ants. Wine was oxidized and undrinkable. That said, I threw down for 3 of the 750’s on the hopium assumption that they’ll be better preserved than the half bottles were
