Anyone have any thoughts on Angwin? Seems like it’s a solid cab from what I can find…
Well-known wine sales site hires well-known wine guy to help sell wine. The horror! #sarcasm
It’s like QVC. Every segment needs a host. Now only if they had a live call in for testimonials.
Anyone have a pulse on Arrive Cellars? Bought a bottle during the spree weekend but the background on the winemaker seems interesting.
I’m tapped out as far as wine purchases go, but seems appealing on paper.
Don’t worry, CT has you. User Tom Eastwood describes the wine, quite vividly I might add, as “Desire pearl mex.” Pretty much all you need to know.
I have tried two bottles. It’s OK. If I am feeling generous, 87 points. Has a fair amount of fruit, but lacks definition.

Mystery bottle, edit likely Chappellet signature
Agreed.
Might have to go for this, has great CT scores.
Even at the $90 release price, I think the Chappellet Signature is still a compelling buy for Napa cab. This is a crazy deal
From what I was told, the 2020 Chappellet Signature was only using fruit that they could harvest before the smoke reached their estate (they had 2 days or so to pick) and they prioritized picking the fruit that typically goes into their Pritchard Hill bottling.
I did not taste any smoke taint when I had it last year and it was more structured / concentrated than the other Signatures I’ve tried.
IMO well worth the flier at $40 / bottle
Under “nerdy details”, there are more clues that clinch your guess.
In for 3, thank you for the heads up.
they had 2 days or so to pick
Their spec sheet says they picked between 9/14 and 9/26. No mention of the fires.

Chappellet didn’t make a PH or Hideaway in 2020, so it’s likely all the non smoke affected wine went into the Signature.
No mention of the fires? How deceitful. What are they trying to pull over on the consumer? The elephant in the room must be exposed! ![]()
I clicked and I would buy this all day long and probably in every vintage except 2020 ![]()
Seems like a true vintage dump?
Tempted… Any promo codes floating around?
