LastBottleWines.com (Last Bottle Wines) Deal Discussion Thread (Part 1)

Hi @Eric_White, I am no expert on champagne & bubbles, but I really, really enjoyed this for the price. I like the fact that it’s bone dry (beau vigne can sometimes take over-extraction liberties on their reds since the winery has been sold). I paid a little less than the LB price, but I do think this is of good value. I’ve certainly had my fair share of champagne, but I don’t have the developed palate in that area that others do. I just really enjoyed the precision and focus of this wine for ~$20. Thanks for asking.

2009 AR.PE.PE Grumello Riserva Sant’Antonio for $79 right now. I’m debating…

Thoughts on today’s offering?
Cobblestone Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Atlas Peak Napa Valley 2016

Not much information out there and it seems like it may have been available for around $25 several years ago.

I am passing because they want you to buy 6 for free shipping…

Any thought/experience regarding the Dolum Cask #3 at $39?

I ended up feeling the same way. Will look out for it during the next marathon sale.

Meanwhile, it is Egly day on Last Bubbles. So far nothing at such a discount worth jumping after.

I’ll have you all know, I’m on my (actual) last bottle of the 2016 Hamel Family Isthmus and I’m quite depressed about it. Mystery bottle offering a few months back. $35 was such a steal.

I agree @azogas . Really wish I had bought multiple cases. So good!

That’s funny. I opened up my first bottle of the Hamel this weekend with some friends and was surprised by how good it was. Thankfully I have 3 more left. Insane qpr on that one.

16% ABV? Was it balanced/hot?..Too high for my taste

It was surprisingly balanced and did not taste as though it was 16% ABV. Normally that’s way too hot for me, but I don’t think that the LB mystery offer included that info. That’s probably for the best because if it did, I would have ended up passing on an enjoyable wine.

A tiny drop of Ultramarine just showed up on Last Bubbles.

How much was it? I was too late to see the offer. Not that I would buy any, I think it’s a good wine, but not nearly worth the price it fetches.

Anyone have thoughts or guesses on today’s Last Bottle Mystery wine?

I was hoping someone had a guess as well. I bought two for kicks.

There’s not a lot to work with once you cross out the hyperbole. For the retail price point, 2 winemakers, as well as past scores, I’ll throw Levy & McClellan out there although I’m not up to speed on their 2019s.

Honestly, a few maker/partners in the valley could fit the description.

Seems like LB is giving a hint with “A MOUTHFUL”, but I don’t get it.

My guess is Buccella 2019 cab. Price, pedigree and ABV matches ($240 ish retail, assosiated with Celia Welch, also looks to be 14.5%). Reverse image search on the first pic in ‘nerdy details’ pulled up their page on Winefolly Napa Guide too.

Lol I’ll take any mid tier Champagne with age at that price point.
