Lamy's first Graviéres

We were out in Jean-Marc Vincent’s Graviéres vineyard around 7pm one night whilst recently in Burgundy and who should be bumping along the top track of the vineyard in his Land Rover but Olivier Lamy. He has recently acquired a plot of land here and was keen to see what Jean-Marc was doing in his vineyard.

A couple of nights ago we opened a bottle of 2012 Hubert Lamy Santenay “Clos des Graviéres” Vieilles Vignes. It had sweet, creamy, perfumed cherry fruit coupled with gingerbread oak. It was supple, accessible and quite delicious. There’s roundness to the wine with some minerality just below the flesh.

Cheers
Jeremy

I’m sure that as Olivier’s farming increases its impact on the vine’s health, the depth and complexity will improve.
I got a box of this as well, and am curious to try it out of bottle.
Seems that Olivier started wax capsule sealing additional cuvees in '12, including this Gravieres, Macherelles, and obviously the HD wines (which had also been wax sealed in '11).
Cheers Jeremy.
