Tonight’ts dinner was Shepherd’s lamb w/italian Seasonings in Rao’s Arrabiatta Sauce on Penne Rigate. This was enjoyed with a 2000 Nine Gables Pifari Cedar Vista Vineyard Zinfandel from California’s Shenandoah Valley - rich, ripe dark berry fruit, good acidity with a medium long, berry fruit finish. The fruit was rich and ripe enough to pair with the pasta very well.
Then we finished with three cheeses - brie, goat brie, & St. André; and another zinfandel - 2000 Ridge Lytton Springs (75% Zin, 20% Petite Sirah, 5% Carignane) - rich red and dark berry fruit; adequate acidity, little tannin, with a medium long fruity finish. It was very nice with the cheeses and WF Deluxe Mixed Nuts and TJ’s Jumbo Raisin Medley. It was a nic finish to an enjoyable meal.
