Lafon Rochet sale?

The only part I said is in bold, and I stand by what I said. In a region where modern kids are reluctant to enter agriculture, for progeny to keeping the family estate running as an on site owner/manager is no small achievement.

My father grew up on a dairy farm + lime orchard and had less than zero interest in ever being part of that! And some 50 years after he had left it, I still had to deal with ‘quit claim’ forms to make sure I could never get dragged into the never ending disputes related to the land.

Arv,

There are encouraging things happening here in Maine. There are young people choosing to farm for a living. Some are inheriting family farms. Some decide to make a career of it. The biggest problem is that people with resources are buying up suitable land, either just to live on or for a ‘hobby’ farm. People who are serious about making a life of it are being priced out of the market. Hopefully this is changing with the economy.
