LACK of Prime Beef at Costco -- is there a pattern?

The meat cutters at my costco (LZ IL) package the prime meat around when they open in the morning and when it is gone, it’s gone for the day…sometimes I need a whole strip loin so I show up right at 10am and get to choose which one I want.

I bought a couple of 3 packs of prime strips here a couple weeks ago- was there early and did dig to get the best ones- but was still disappointed. Not great butchering, and not great marbling.

Oh but the best part- and here’s a visual for you…me in the motorized cart!! Still cannot walk!

Have never seen Prime beef in Bend Costco.
I see it all the time in Portland, specifically the one in Beaverton, whenever we are in town.

However, I can’t complain…the choice cuts from Bend often look very marbled.
My only gripe is that sometimes the steaks are cut on a slant.
I know better now than to buy those…

Today we shopped Costco and the Prime was displayed in a separate case across from the meat. You had to pick out the prime Prime though,
