Hmmm. Now don’t know what to do. Back in Paris in May. Do I go back to LTd’A like always or skip based on the more recent negative reviews…
Damn. Love the view…

A tough decision.
Charlie pointed me this way–thanks–and sorry to hear, Ryan,
We have a lunch res later in March. (We did know about the duck and ordered one, so…if we go, we’ll see how that goes.)
I’m curious about the list. I heard that they sold off some of the cellar.Where the wines both overpriced and off, or just off?
Hi Joshua,
The prices have been increased to match the market. The wines other than the 91 Chave were not from a good cellar. I know that they sold off a lot of wine. I don’t know where they are currently sourcing wine from, but there is no way that several of the bottles that we had were original to the restaurant. The only bottle we sent back was the 93 Raveneau, and the head somm was a complete ass about it. The food was awful. The view is lovely though…
Best,
Ryan
Sad news. Never made it there, but the place is (was?) clearly an institution. Wonder what’s up.
my raw duck was in 2015, posted about it earlier in this thread. Will never go back. A horrible meal.
Sounds like an easy pass, Paris has too many great restaurants with matching wine lists, and Jules Verne was surprisingly good if you need the view.
The sartorial discussion seems to have split along expected regional preferences, as an East Coast person in London all about the suit for nice meals, though agnostic on the tie.
Thanks for the Otto’s recommendation, looks like an interesting spot.
Ok. Decision made. Not going back. Will keep the positive memory of maybe 10 or more dinners there and miss the potential negative memory of an awful meal and ‘market priced’ wines.
I think I’m there with you, Peter,
PASS–thanks, Ryan for the update, and sorry about the bad experience.
