Tough to compare to the 25th anniversary last year but seems to lack a bit of star power (especially SF). Wonder if pricing will reflect that

Doubt it. Never has before

In the short time I’ve been paying attention, there’s always 1 or 2 names on the list that everyone really wants to try but doesn’t show up to the main event - instead they do a side dinner. Willing to bet Guilbert-Gillet is one of those names.

anyone have the dates for NYC ?

3/28ish

Totally worth flying to NYC if you attend one of these, and I live in SF

Aside from Raveneau, who do you think makes NY that much better than SF? As I said, compared to a decade ago or more, both lineups are somewhat weaker. But I would have to flip a coin this year between the two lists. What’s interesting is that there is no overlap, while in the last there was like 90% overlap.

Arlaud, Dugat-Py, Duroche, Fornerol, Fourrier, Gillet, Lafon, Lignier, Raveneau, Trapet

It’s not even funny how second class the SF event is in comparison

It’s a subjective comparison. I’ll be happy to try d’Angerville, Bouley, Chezeaux, Clos de Tart, Hudelot-Noëllat, Jobard, Lambrays, Thibault Liger-Belair, Louis Michel, and several others I don’t know so well. Some of themselves I can actually still buy lol.

I think the NYC is going to have much better dinners as well, but I do think they did make the producers at least somewhat equitable, although I think the NYC slate is better.

The main two I wish were in NY are Charles Van Canneyt and TLB. Other than that, nothing that hurts me to miss in SF.

he’ll be at the main event

Are you going to leave the west coast and grace us with your presence in NYC?

that’s the plan

Are they now doing both cities each year on a regular basis? How bacchanalian of them. I like these producers but do I really want to see nearly the same ones every year? They risk oversaturation and possible burnout here.

Definitely some consistent attendees, but not really “the same every year”- there’s a number of producers at NYC verticals/grand this coming year that weren’t pouring last year. Some wines I’m looking forward to checking out.

You can alternate if you don’t want to see the same ones. I think it’s a good way to assess the vintage as a whole.
