L.A. Times article - "...$25 has become the new $40."

A Patrick Comiskey article in the Food section of the Times today touches on the obvious - people are trading down. Looks like he’s done a good job of sampling opinions from stores.

heck, I know I am.

I’d say $15 is the new $50.

i don’t know if i’m trading down so much as i’m trading less, if at all.

Not due to the economy, but due to other circumstances I am in the same boat.

I’ve pretty much stopped buying from retailers all together as I have enough wine for a while. Now just buying off of mailing lists that I have to keep.

I was out of town when Pat called our store so I didn’t get to tell him that, for MOST people, $40 was ALWAYS an expensive wine. But yes, $15 is the new $40…

The Lambrusco king is in da house! Welcome, Roberto.

Thanks, this place looks like it might actually work.

Some of us are still holding our breath.

It’s already working. What began as an outpost populated by criminals, outcasts and miscreants has become a thriving small community populated by more criminals, outcasts and miscreants - but a whole bunch of regular folk, too.

Invite all your friends.

What is the new $325?
