Should we assume you’re referring to their pastrami? That’s what I read people interested in comparing to Langer’s and Brent’s. Wexler’s (though I’ve never been myself) always loses to both.
I’ve had it three times, twice in downtown and once in Santa Monica. It was great all three times. Smoky, spicy, tender and nicely sliced. Bread is not as good as Langers’ twice-baked rye, but the meat was the real deal when I had it.
I thank everyone else for their definitive statements, and perhaps you have experienced unevenness which I have not, but I suggest you give it a try for yourself, Peter.
Wexler’s is totally worth trying. Surprisingly, the new hand sliced pastrami at Factors is actually pretty good. Be careful though, because their regular pastrami is awful!
