I think the release is coming shortly. Has anybody barrel tasted or otherwise the 2013 SC or Falstaff?
I think there will be some at Falltacular in February. I’ll report in, if so, since I love Falstaff.
Mark. Here are some notes from a few months back…click link below, these should be on point for you:
Thanks Frank. i did a search, but didnt see that thread. Appreciate it.
here are my brief notes from my visit last summer…I will be a buyer
I got the “save the date” email just today!
Since I have been more than a few times via email what the pricing will be, here it is:
2013 Kutch Sonoma Coast, Pinot Noir $39
2013 Kutch Falstaff Vineyard, Pinot Noir $59
The Sonoma Coast bottling hasn’t had an increase in price since my first vintage way back in 2005 when I released 150 cases at $39.
bravo for that $39 price jk!
Awesome, one of my all time favorite releases of the year. Looking forward to it Jamie!
Some big decisions will be made on what I am buying this year, this is not one of them. Easy buy. Opened a '10 Sonoma Coast last week and it was excellent.
Like Mike, I too will be buying. These wines for me are really thrilling and for my palate, the style I pursue and find the most engaging these days, Kutch is right there at the top. Balance, low booze, energy, beautiful fruit and at prices that are as fair as any out there for elite CA pinot. Hell, if people are on the fence as to these wines, buy the Sonoma Coast and see what you think. The following for these wines is not an accident, folks.
I hope I get an offer for Falstaff.
Oh yeah… That sounds familiar. I must have been over served.
Drinking a '12 Sonoma Coast right now. So delicious. Really looking forward to the '13 release.
I also applaud the opportunity to buy more Kutch at $39. An increasingly rare level.
I still have a hard time with Mike making posts like this. Thankfully the world does not appear to be coming to an end.
Mike
I don’t if everyone gets an allocation but I have the email notice saying that we will be offered Falstaff on Jan 20th
If you want my allocation ( if I get any ) you are welcome
Let me know
Alan
Some notes from Jamie Goode (probably shouldn’t read if you’re trying to limit your purchases): The wines of Kutch, Sonoma, California
Steve;
Thanks for posting this. I’m looking forward to these coming out…
Do I remember reading somewhere that Jamie was toying with the idea of making a chardonnay? Anyone know what the first vintage of that might be?
