Won’t speak for trav of course but from what I recall
When trav made it the first year he actually thought about these as drink young btls. But as he’s made them and aged some over the years, we have realized hey shoot these are good with some age too! :). Something something about Well made wines right? But yah - no harm trying young.

Drank the 2020 Red Wine v.1 with a nicely prepared New York steak at the Melrose Grill. Decanted for around 45 minutes while we drank a very nice Chenin Blanc. Gorgeous nose of dark currants, bitter chocolate, and red plums. Medium plus-bodied with just the right amount of tannin/structure to keep the wine in balance. Just a pleasurable wine to drink and paired very well with red meat. Have two more so will look forward to drinking them in the next 5 years. 94pts.

hullo. perhaps a stoopid question, but I looked at emails and webby site and am unsure of the pickup dates for these- Shall I assume Nov 7-9 ish along with fall release weekend?

I think they are only shipping. Unless they let you pick up at the event they usually have in December. I don’t remember an option for pick-up when I ordered.
CORRECTION:
After some diligent research on my part (receiving a DM from someone more observant that me), looks like there was an option for pick-up that saved on sales tax. Don’t know the dates but the pick-up would be on the Oregon side in the Walla Walla area.

Two questions for folks
- How long do people sit on these wines before opening? I’ve drank through almost all of mine from the last 2 years and they were delicious, but I could see them improving with time. How patient should I be?
- Does anyone know when we should expect the sweater?
Most important question here is when is the hoodie coming. These wines can be drank whenever but to me they feel like they can easily age 10-20 years if not longer. Plenty of bones on pretty much all of them. Can’t speak to what will eventually happen to the sans souffre though. That might be an issue.

I sit on many of them, still have some of his first release, and very rarely do i feel i should have consumed earlier
I personally believe the wines are fantastic at any step in their evolution. I’ve already opened the Marsanne/Roussanne and the Cab Franc from this release and both were terrific. Decanted the CF for three hours and it was fairly open for business. Young, but delicious.
Just drank a 2020 Viognier last night and it had aged nicely in that medium term kind of way. I have wines from 2018-2024 left and wouldn’t feel bad about opening any of them.
