You guys mean to tell me that the the trick is to place an order before it sells out?! ![]()
Nope! The trick is to refesh cosntantly leading up to the release time and place an order before it almost instantly sells out ![]()
Edit:…and apparently update your birthday the day of the release, ha!
I received the other emails and have purchased a number of times before, but didn’t get one at all today, spam or otherwise.
Ended up logging in just a bit ago and grabbed 3 Viogniers.
Guess I saved money?
Wow! 9:15 Mountain time and had to wishlist the Syrah and totally missed the SS. but Yea for T&M for selling quickly
Placed my first order with Kobayashi.
1x Nikko
2x Viognier
2x Marsanne-Roussanne
For those who are experienced, do the whites drink well on release, or should i give them some time?
Ryan,
I’ve drank every vintage of the whites and have found that they drink spectacularly upon release and anytime thereafter!
Yes
the viognier is lights-out spectacular. amazing aromatics.
With the latest orders in, I tried one of last year’s Cab Francs (2022) last night. Man, this is a lovely, elegant wine. An extremely well balanced mid weight wine - with soft, mouth filling tannins and a fresh acidity that’s not at all sharp, it’s really a style I like. Dark cherry flavor with white flowers, a little white pepper, graphite and some milk chocolate on the warm, long finish. Nice, expressive nose of baking spice and flowers with dark fruit underneath.
I don’t drink a lot of Cabernet franc, but I would never have picked it as such blind (I would have gone Northern Rhône). There’s a little bell pepper in there, but you really have to be looking for it. With this structure it should last quite a long time but it’s great drinking now.
2022 Viognier is banging right now. Opened a bottle while cooking some sablefish (black cod) and I don’t know if there’s going to be any left for dinner.
On day three of this bagged wine bliss! Paired with carnitas and carne asada tacos. Perfect pairing!
Wouldn’t you know it- we were on a kayak trip with zero internet access during the release period.
Maybe next year.
Two years ago I was on a Jeep tour at Moab when the email hit and I was able to place my order from the front passenger seat
I don’t know, I didn’t want a case and the wines I wanted sold out really fast.
I’ve been meaning to check in on this as well. Did you decant? If so, how long?
No. PnP.
Question for the group. I only have 1…so when do i open the 2022 sans-soufre syrah?
I’m heading to Moab on Sunday, so I didn’t miss this release.
Hike as early as you can!
I usually drink these btls before the next years release… they can age tho… but why wait when they so good young.
