Kistler pinot profile

I was wondering if y’all could help with Kistler’s Pinot Noir tasting profiles.

I’m not much on expressing flavors and what not. I’ve tried three different KBs and loved them. Tried a Sea Smoke and bleh. CrossBarn 39 was good while CrossBarn 38 not so much. Freeman Keefer was a good one, the others they had available that day didn’t do it. Merry Edwards was good all around.

Someone said it might be the tannins. The aftertaste that’s dry/bitter is what I don’t like about some red wines. Letting them sit for a day softens it but meh.

How would y’all describe the Kistler SC and the two Cuvees they make according to my tastes above.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you a coffee or tea drinker?

Both, but not very experienced.

I’ll take coffee black, sweetened or with half and half.

Tea straight up or with sugar or mint and honey.

I haven’t had all that many Kistler Pinots but I think it might be worth a try if you like KB.

My favorite CA PN include Kistler, KB, W-S, Aubert, Rhys, Mt Eden and Arcadian. Pretty much all across the board from jam bombs to lean. I usually read TN on CT and follow interesting TN threads on this board to guide my purchasing. If you like KB; it would be logical you might like Kistler and W-S. Or not? Best course to take is purchase a bottle to try. Kistler produces several PN which all have their attributes so go to their website and read the info they have posted on each wine.

You like smooth round silky polished tannins. You probably don’t like firm structured tannins. Tell your wine vendors that and they’ll be better at dialing in what you’d enjoy.
