Kermit Lynch has Quintarelli now?

He’s tweeting from the cantina, I’m assuming that means no more Chadderdon?

That’s about a year old.
Never got the clear answer on what happened with Chadderdon.

Wow, need to call those guys in the morning. I had given up on getting it legit…

Chatterdon retired. All of his growers are up for grabs.

Good for Kermit Lynch. Nice to see them getting something good for once.

You might not be so excited when you see the prices. But it is Quintarelli.

I’ve been enjoying a slew of Chadderdon closeouts over the last 2 years. (Quintarelli, Boxler, Marc Colin, Bovio, Rocche dei Manzoni, Poggio di Sotto, Patrick Jasmin, Gaunoux-Hudelot & others).

As Gary noted above- the pricing is going up considerably. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. KL also picked up Poggio di Sotto.

Not sure if it was a good move for them to go with Kermit or not. We shall see.

Where is all of the old vintage Billecart that Chadderdon had stashed away?

I know he was selling Bordeaux from his personal collection last year.

Someone posted the other day on a wine they’d bought at Kermit’s store that had a Chadderdon strip label on it (I can’t remember the wine now), so Kermit evidently got some inventory, too.

I sold a bunch of '82 & '83 Billecart Blanc des Blancs that was tremendous back in Late 2010 through mid 2011- I think it was depleted through just a few markets.

From the latest KLWM newsletter:

  • 2005 Valpolicella Classico Superiore - $89/bottle
  • 2004 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico - $360/bottle
  • 2000 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico “Selezione Giuseppe Quintarelli” - $1,200/bottle

For nine, ten and fourteen year old world class wines those seem like deals to me.

Was in Kermit’s store today. A lot of the older vintages of stuff that he picked up still have the Chadderdon label. I’m glad that Kermit Lynch is representing Bernard Faurie now. Great producer in Hermitage.
