Kelley Fox Berserker Day 17 Offer - UP UNTIL 1/31 AM

And just like that, BD17 recedes into memory…

Greetings, Berserkers! I hope you’ve enjoyed a beautiful January. The PNW has just left a weeks long high pressure system, and we’re back to a consistent drizzly grey. I love it, perverse as that sounds. Hope it’s nice where you are. Once again, we are honored to participate in Berserker Day, for our seventh consecutive year. I have been at the helm for three of the seven events, and continue to get to know members of the forum. I have especially enjoyed meeting new Berserkers (and lurkers) over the past calendar year. I hope you are enjoying your Friday, perhaps toggling tabs between the forum and your (presumably more important) office work. I’ll be around all day to help with orders, or answer any questions you have about wines.

As in previous years, I’ll advise interested parties to wait for a mid-day update to our Berserker offers. I’d post them all at once, but I wouldn’t want any to get lost in the fray, and offering them in a staggered fashion allows latecomers to get access to stuff as it drops. I have adjusted the numbers of packages available after Monopole folks had access yesterday. The mid-day update will be new for everyone!

Erin and I will work assiduously to consolidate multiple orders for shipping and I will refund shipping charges down to our $20 flat rate for multiple orders that meet or exceed a case (12 bottles). I appreciate your patience as I get to your order – we are a small winery, and I am the only one organizing orders for fulfillment. I believe we did a better job last year than the year before getting folks their wines in an expeditious manner, and I hope to improve on it again this year.

We’ll be offering a few formats of Berserker packages this year – bundles, individual library wines, and (relatively) current releases offered at the absurdly deep discounts we extended in 2025. Some of the bundles you may have seen before, here offered again for folks who missed the opportunity last year. A more focused Maresh Vineyard bundle returns, here offering depth within the 2017-2019 vintages. A few magnum bundles will be posted too, with decade-old vintages from Maresh and Momtazi vineyards. If you have tried any of the older Momtazi bottlings we offered last year, you might appreciate how built-to-last these wines are; magnum formats ought to be rock solid. A new Weber Vineyard bundle will package four vintages of this Pinot Noir for you – from 2018 to 2022 (as a reminder, we produced no red wines in 2020)! Some other bundles might pop up as well…

I have a number of individual wines with quantities low enough to make bundles difficult, but big enough to be able to offer on their lonesome. I’ll be putting up a significant quantity of these throughout the day – look for Red Barn Blocks, the Maresh Riesling (offered two years ago, but drinking so, so well right now) and a smashing value 2016 Ahurani.

Lastly, I’m bringing back some deep, deep discounts on more current wines. You can expect several of these throughout the day – likely two in the AM and two in the PM, both red and white. Last year I noticed tons of new Kelley Fox customers come through with these wines, and I hope to get to know some new folks again this year!

I’ll be holding these orders at the winery for shipping until weather conditions improve along to the route to your destination. California, Oregon and Washington residents can expect to receive their wines soon. If you live elsewhere and need your wines ASAP, please contact me to discuss shipping options. Your wines will wait in excellent condition here at the winery until the right window to ship arrives.

Have fun today, and be in touch!

LIBRARY PACKAGES

2017-2019 Bottle Maresh Vineyard Vertical (2017-2019, 4x Bottle Each Vintage) - $900 (25% Discount!)

Thanks to Berserker Days past, we’ve largely exhausted our inventory of pre-2017 Maresh Vineyard wines (I have a few stragglers…contact me), but we put together a three vintage vertical with depth, highlighting three beautiful and quite internally diverse vintages – 2017, 2018 and 2019.

3 Vintage Hyland Vineyard Vertical (2017-2019, 1x bottle each) - $170

This vertical makes a return appearance this year, largely because the bottlings remain popular despite not being on the tasting menu at the winery for years. All three vintages are stellar. The 2017 is my personal favorite. Very distinctive wine. If you don’t know Oregon Pinot, this is a wild way to make its acquaintance - a very unique, savory, and aromatic wine from the Coast Range behind and above McMinnville.

2014/2016 Maresh Magnum Pair - $300 (25% Discount!)

Do you like magnums? Are you living and breathing? Of course you do! I have a very small quantity of these two Maresh vintages in magnum format. You’ll note the 100% whole cluster inclusion in the 2016 has made the wine especially durable and ready to age. The 2014, at around 80% whole cluster, has also aged beautifully, and possesses beautifully ripe fruit for its age.

2018/2019 Maresh Magnum Pair - $300 (25% Discount!))

The 2014/2016 Maresh Magnum bundle was swiftly bought out by Monopole members (thank you!). I’ve therefore called an audible (Red EighTEEN! Red NineTEEN! Hut HUT!) for Berserker Day and put together another two magnum bundle for interested parties. Here we have the 2018 and 2019 vintages - both totally stellar wines from quite different vintages. 2018 is ripe and so full of fruit. 2019, from a cooler, wetter year, is predictably more reserved. The kind of wine you have to draw out with patience and love. Both are babies. Both will last for a while in this format. I’m putting up SOLD OUT

NEW PM LIBRARY BUNDLES

5 Vintage Star of Bethlehem Flower Block Vertical (’16-’21 - 5 bottles) - $375

I’d be remiss if I didn’t include another Star of Bethlehem vertical. Some of you ordered this wine last year – this year you have the opportunity to pad your cellar, and I’m lifting the limit on the small quantity of this wine we typically release. For those unfamiliar with the wine, Kelley produced Pinot Noir from the small parcel on the Maresh property from 2016 through 2021. A great introduction to Maresh, a vineyard from which Kelley no longer pulls fruit. 36 AVAILABLE! [CLICK HERE]

4 Vintage Weber Bundle (’18-’22 - 4 bottles) - $300

Here is another great value for one of my favorite vineyards in the Dundee Hills. Kelley produces Pinot Noir and a smidge of old-vine Chardonnay from this 1970s vineyard off Worden Hill road. Our first vintage of Pinot Noir from the vineyard was 2018, and here you are receiving a bundle of the first four vintages produced (remember: we produced no red wine in 2020). The 2019 is lithe and ethereal, the 2021 incredibly transparent with a sweet fruit profile, and the 2018 showing lushness from a warm vintage. The 2022 is but a baby. All of these wines are deserving of time in your cellar.
2014/2015/2016 Momtazi Magnum Vertical - $400

The sister package to the Maresh bundle, here we’re selecting the 2014 Momtazi, and the 2015 and 2016 Momtazi TIR bottling, three tremendously age-worthy wines in their magnum format. Again, Kelley made precious little magnums to begin with, so we have

INDIVIDUAL BOTTLES

2016 Ahurani - $30/bottle (25% Discount!)

The Ahurani bottlings (2015-2017) are lesser known among Kelley Fox fans, and have always provided beautiful value, as they highlight the Momtazi vineyard at the price of a Mirabai bottle. These wines are beautiful, and just like the other Momtazi bottling from this vintage, it is ready to age. Here offered for a discounted price of $30 a bottle. SOLD OUT

2021 Maresh Vineyard Old Vine White Riesling - $40/bottle (Almost 30% Off!)

Several years back, Berserkers were offered 3-bottle bundles of this wine, and I know many of you took advantage and are happily enjoying the wines today. I have opened several bottles of the 2021 Riesling, the only Riesling Kelley has ever produced, in the past few months, and I have to say the wine is drinking in peak condition at the moment. The acid backbone has really carried this wine, which is fresh and dry and full of lime pith. In 2026 I’ve released the wine from its 3 pack bundle and am allowing folks to purchase bottles individually. Please enjoy this while it lasts! 3 cases available!

NEW PM BOTTLES

2017 Maresh Vineyard Red Barn Blocks Pinot Noir - $70/bottle

Berserkers have enjoyed the Red Barn Blocks as a verti0cal in the past - we have so little of the 2014-2016 vintages that a bundle is tough to assemble. I have a bit more of the 2017, a cooler vintage touched by rain, whose wines are delicate, aromatic, and quite “Maresh-y,” if that makes sense to say. I’m offering up the 2017 Maresh Red Barn Blocks here, and you are welcome to purchase it by the bottle, six pack, case, what have you. Only about 8 cases in inventory. As a reminder, these were (yes, they have been torn up) the old-vines that stood aside the eponymous Red Barn at the top of Worden Hill - gnarly and own-rooted 5 cases available!

2019 Mirabai - $30

Man I love the 2019 vintage! These wines are so pure and transparent, and the 2019 Weber (which finds its way into this bottling) is one of my favorite bottlings of the past decade. We have a reasonably amount of this wine in our library, so I’m offering it to you all at a discounted price. I’ll miss this wine when its gone!

DEALS

2023 Durant Vineyard Pinot Noir - $45/bottle ($90 retail!)

Last year we offered a few of our relatively recently released (alliteration!) Pinot Noirs to Berserkers at half-off. While we were hesitant to extend such deep discounts, we soon found the offers brought a host of first-time customers our way, and introduced us to new Berserkers who might not have otherwise bought the wine. So we’re reprising this offer this year with a selection of wines. First up, a wine that I have observed transform over the past year – the 2023 Durant Pinot Noir. This comes from 1973 and 1984 vines (old!) on the Durant property in the Dundee Hills. This wine has shed weight over its time in bottle, and now has a beautiful, lithe quality and a sparkling ruby appearance. It’s very fine from an other wise warm vintage. I love it, and expect it will continue to mature elegantly.

2024 Grüner Veltliner - $12/bottle ($24 retail!)

Crazy price to be offering this wine, which is still as fresh as a daisy. For those who haven’t had our Gruner - it’s stainless steel fermented, fresh, green, and peppery. It’s a delicious wine with a gorgeous label, painted by Kelley’s daughter Violet. Snag a case!

NEW PM DISCOUNTS

2023 Stater Vineyard Pinot Noir $45/bottle ($90 retail!)

Kelley began farming this vineyard in 2023, and we now source Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc from its vines. The vineyard is located off of Breyman Orchard Road, and shares a property line with Eyrie Vineyards’ South Block (that is, the oldest Pinot Noir in the Willamette Valley), and is nestled in between similarly gorgeous and typical Dundee Hills sites. Kelley and I have often discussed how much definition this wine has. It is quite structured, and has a granular quality; very defined tannins are (slowly) resolving in the bottle, and if you have preconceptions about Dundee Hills fruit being soft, this wine will test them. I love Stater, and of the 2023s, it is perhaps the one I the most excited to see age. Why not offer it at a discount for y’all?

2022 Freedom Hill Pinot Noir - $45/bottle ($90 retail!)

You likely know or have heard of this vineyard if you an Oregon-drinker. Freedom Hill is located in the Mt. Pisgah AVA, and is the oldest vineyard in this relatively remote part of the Valley. Notably, it is the only Pinot Noir Kelley sources that is grown on marine sediment. This wine is always one to hold on to, and in 2022 Kelley opted for 100% whole cluster fermentation, adding to this wine’s structure and longevity. Here’s another instance of a wine that has slowly transformed in bottle – it’s been beautiful over the past 6 months as it starts to emerge into early adolescence. It’s yours if you want it!

Jonathan - I come to Willamette Valley several times per year. Wondering if is possible to arrange for pick-up at some point (your convenience) in order to avoid shipping (expense and hassle).

Tom in Seattle

Thanks Jeremy! More to come tomorrow on the day of!

Tom,

Of course. In the shopping cart you can select pick up at winery rather than ship. Happy to hold the wines for you.

-Jonathan

Gonna drop additional stuff tomorrow when the majority of folks can see. Thanks for your early interest!

Similar to Justin, in for 6 and hope to add more tomorrow for a full case (or two)

Love it! Assume if any new “surprise” offers show up, they can be tacked on to the initial purchase?

@Jonathan_Ziemba
I’m in the process of placing an order, but the shipping address will depend on the shipping carrier. Do you use FedEx or UPS to ship to AZ? Thanks a ton.

Yeah for sure. Just like last year, what I’ll do is comb through orders after tomorrow, and pair up multiple orders, then refund shipping down to a flat rate if you hit 12 bottles, and ship all the wines together (when weather allows!)

I use UPS unless you’d really insist on FedEx. My go to is UPS. Hope this helps!

Thanks. I prefer FedEx, but will not make a fuss – you’ve got a lot of plates spinning in the air with BD17 – and will go with the UPS.

In for the Hyland vertical!
