Just in case anyone is wondering...

…yes, I am alive indeed!

Shipping season is in full swing and we’ve all been buried with requests. Unlike Posner, did not have much time to chit-chat, create stirs, or bashing Parker lately

This past weekend I’ve hosted a great event with Bruno Borie and Jean Trimbach. Lots of fun to see the two interact and getting fired up about who would sell the most wine. Also priceless was Master John Gillman giving Bruno shit about new oak. Awesome!

Here is a link if anyone is interested to see some cool pics…http://gallery.me.com/mmarinucci#100110

For anyone who is interested in photography here are some tech details:

All pics were taken by me on my trusty 1959 Leica M3 sporting a new Voigtlander Nokton Aspherical 1.5 lens. No flash, most taken wide open or f2 at 1/30th. No digital bullshit…B&W film, Kodak Tri-X 400 and Fuji Neopan 400, developed by yours truly in Kodak HC110 developer. Scanned on Epson 750V flatbed scanner @ 3200dpi. Very minor tweaking in Adobe Lightroom and that’s about it.

Hey…I am so busy, I haven’t even had a chance to charge Todd for the thousands of dollars worth of wine he bought [oops.gif]

Glad everything made it there in one piece, P. Rob. Enjoy!

Very nice pics, Max. As a filmmaker, I share your affinity for the look of film, there is nothing that can replace it. Really bummed I missed the tasting - the bad weather canceled our family trip out to your neck of the woods. How about some notes on the wines?

I need to find another time to make it out to your store to grab a bunch of those bdx deals… once I’m off spending probation…

No one really cared, Max!

Hooray for busy season!

Beautiful store, Max!!

Max, great pictures. I was bummed I couldn’t get enough free time on Saturday to stop by. I really wanted to be there. It was great seeing you last week and shooting the breeze. I’ve got to stop by more often and break your day up. Maybe lunch next time.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning.

When you catch up to Dan in sales, Max, you’ll be able to afford the .95 Noctolux. http://en.leica-camera.com/photography/m_system/lenses/5915.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Did you pay Josh yet? [berserker.gif]

John,

Amazing lens! $10K, Leica is making 200 and they have orders for 500 apparently. Not everyone out there is suffering I guess.

Sounds like the problem Jeff Ames is having allocating his 07 Rudius cab!!! [berserker.gif]

+1 [basic-smile.gif]

Mods, commerce corner this one, STAT!

Nice! I sold-off all my DSLR gear earlier this year in favor of a M6 and 50mm Summicron. There is nothing like B&W film and a rangefinder in low-light conditions.

Mike, I have a minty M2 and a minty III-G and for the life of me can not get rid of them. Them are the best made cameras I have ever held in my hand, well almost…

The Summitar is amazing and the Summaron 35mm beautiful. I have a bunch of Cosina lenses that are decent. The 21 being my favorite of that bunch.

Cosina makes some great lenses - but I just seem to gravitate to the 50mm. A buddy loaned me a 35mm v.4 'cron for a few months and I barely used it. I love the build of the M2 & M3, but I like not needing an exernal meter - and I’m not good enough to go without. [whistle.gif]

Btw - Max, next time try a roll of Neopan 1600, pushed to 1250 or 1000 with xtol 1:1 - very film noir-ish contrast with great grain.

What is the Verrazano Narrows Bridge Alex. [highfive.gif]

seeing all that Trimbach wine in those pictures sure gets the tastebuds revved up! Enjoyed the pictures.

Beautiful photo, but it still takes you to . . . Staten Island! [rofl.gif]
