I heard he came up with the idea for the first California Grand Cru but, while napping one afternoon, another producer swooped in and snatched the idea right from under him.

Just scored some 66 la tache from this guy. Impeccable provenance- a temprature controlled storage locker. low fills, nice brown hues. beautiful stewed flavors and cooked aromas. Easy deal, great transaction.

Had a nice time barrel tatsting with John yesterday and it cemented my feelings that he is one of my favorite CA PN producers. Hard part was deciding which wine to future due to my limited budget. Just some fabulous wines and John and Carri are great peeps as well. [cheers.gif]
