I won’t comment at all, just let his words do the talkin’

BA: How did you first become interested in wine?
JG: When I went to London in 1995, I had just won the Winston Cup championship and I wanted to celebrate, so I found the best restaurant and ordered the most expensive wine, Montrachet. You know it’s a good bottle of white when they decant it, and it did not disappoint. I realized I like that type of rich, really buttery and oaky wine. So I started finding California wines, like Kistler and Far Niente, that reminded me of that.
if they did not not decant the bottle right in front of him i’d bet $20 he was served a really good CA Chard with some age on it and the staff enjoyed La Montrachet in the back.
I’ve met Jeff a few times when I worked at Comcast on some NASCAR sponsorships, the last dinner we had with him in Miami he passed on the red wine I ordered( 94 Insignia and 97 Montelena) for some white…they didn’t decant the Cakebread either
