Jean Foillard 2024 Morgon ‘Cuvée Classique’ - any info?

This is in a current offer. I’m not at all familiar with this cuvee (I like the Cote de Py), and am undecided whether to include a few bottles to make up a case for shipping (with the BJ Blanc that I don’t need a full case of ). Any comments on style would be appreciated; Ive found very little about this cuvee in searches. I’m guessing a lighter style?

Isn’t that the regular Foillard Morgon? Very weird if you can’t find any info on that wine - unless you mean that wine and that particular vintage?

I just had the Foillard Morgon Cote de Py 2023 and it was the best beaujolais I’d ever had. I’d be hard pressed to choose another unless I had half a case already.

I believe it’s a separate Cuvée. And vintage would be a factor too of course.

I believe it is the standard base Morgon from multiple vineyards around the commune. I think the bottle might just say “Morgon”. (I see that’s what Otto was referring to as well). It’s just a way to distinguish which Morgon you are getting since it doesn’t have an official name.

It’s the most approachable gulpable one compared to Cote Du Py (muscular) or Eponym (higher toned) if that makes sense.

Yes, just the basic entry cuvee. The ones I’ve had has been bretty and mousy. Others may have had different experiences. I’m not buying them.

If I were you I’d ditch the blanc and classique and just fill the order with Cote du Py and or Corcelette.

Had a 2016 on the weekend and it was fantastic. To the point my wife said “why don’t you buy more of these?”, which is high praise from her.
