Vare is the most polarizing of his Beta bottlings and it’s site specific, not really a wine making issue. It’s just a feminine site with a tea leaf like finish. The other sites are mountain fruit and will be huge compared to Vare. Also note that it’s not like Beta is a mass produced product. There’s not a ton of people on the list. Those who bought blind and didn’t like the wine are right to sell it.

Agree with Jeff. Personally, 16 vare might be my favorite beta ive ever had. At worst top 3. Such a beautiful wine. However, some others have said the 14 vare isnt all that good. Vare is definitely the most polarizing beta. Also vintage dependent.

I gotta pull a 14’ Vare soon. Need to bring them home from my off site. Ketan’s wines are also meant to lay sideways for 10+, and maybe a lot longer.

Well we are less than 7 full days till the 9th. Anyone get a save the date yet for Jasud? Keeping fingers crossed to make the cut and receive an offer…

Just to control expectations - Feels like beta dates are subject to change, so even if the plan was 9/9 that could slip. Jasud, it sounds like, will be a month or so after beta. Also, last time everyone on the list got a save the date even if you aren’t going to get an offer just to lay out the plan…
Understood. Was caught by surprise with the dates quoted above from T. Philips that indicated Jasud was first this time. Perhaps he transposed the dates. Any info on the chard being offered?

K&L has been auctioning off a lot of Beta. But not Jasud.

Oh, shoot - my bad. I misread that first post. Apologies again. Last time it went beta, and then Jasud. I could be 100% off and this year beta is first and the save the date is only going to people getting offers.
Ketan told me these dates the day i posted. He did tell me Jasud first (on 9/9 as stated)
But i def agree that i wouldnt be shocked if they changed
He has changed his mind on his release dates before. Guess it depends on whether he is actively harvesting and wants to deal with this while he is working his fruit.
He has been bringing the fruit in before September the past couple years so it wouldnt surprise me if he already has his harvest done, for Jasud
