(Mods – feel free to move to Commerce Corner if you want. I have no financial interest in this book and make this post as a public service announcement as many posters on this site have indicated frustration that the book was not available in the U.S.)

I highly recommend Jasper’s newest book, and when I briefly saw him on Saturday, I asked if he’d found a U.S. distributor. Turns out he has: http://www.sothebyswine.com/products.cfm/ID/1506.

They won’t ship the book to Georgia because of some kind of shipping restriction.

Because it’s wine-related? I remember when K&L wouldn’t ship me a Leverpull because the NY A.G. was waging a campaign against out-of-state retailers shipping here.

Yeah, but on a book, the First Amendment would prevent any state from having a law that a book couldn’t ship in.

Don – I wonder if this isn’t because it’s on the same website for ordering wine, and so it gives the defaults for wineshipping. I think it’d be worth a call and asking them if it’s true that they won’t ship a book, as opposed to wine, to GA.

Not sure exactly which book that you’re referring too (perhaps Wein Spricht Deutsch?), but if you can read German: http://www.amazon.de/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?__mk_de_DE=�M�Z��&url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=stuart+pigott&x=0&y=0 . Note that on the second page, there are used copies of his Wine Atlas (in German) available for only 11 euros.

And, unfortunately, while I understand bits and pieces of German thanks to focusing on German history in undergrad, my knowledge isn’t nearly enough to read German.

They were selling Morris’ book Saturday at the Paulee Grand Tasting and I snagged a copy. Jasper was there and autographed it.

My initial review on the book is here. Subsequent usage has reinforced my favorable opinion.

TLDR: If you are a burgundy fan, you really should buy the book.
