Went by State Line Liquors in Elkton, MD and stumbled upon a few amazing deals and wanted to pass the along. I have no affiliation with the shop, just a local favorite of mine.
2008 Jamet Cote Rotie for $39.99
2008 Jamet Cote Rotie Cote Brune for $79.99
2009 D’Angerville Meursault Santenots for $29.99
Thanks for the heads up - I really appreciate it. Headed over to State Line today and picked up a few bottles of Jamet and D’Angerville. Plenty on the shelf left. They also had 2010 Grivot Vosne Romanee for 24.99.
WOW. Those would be tell-your-friends-and-don’t-post-about-them deals in these parts. The Grivot really adds to the craziness. That stuff is allocated in MA. And 2010!?!
Haha, I’d normally keep it to myself, but since the first poster helped me out, I’d figure I should pass it along too. And like him, I cannot afford to buy it all!
Yeah the prices on those wines are insane. From what I was told when I inquired was that everything was a distributor close out. I will have to head back to pick up some Grivot also; that price is just nuts, and probably some more D’Angerville.
Funny, I went looking for tasting notes on these wines and found this thread instead!
The Jamets and d’Angerville are still there as of this evening – they had five bottles of the Cote Brune, nine bottles of the Cote Rotie, and half a dozen bottles of the Meursault after I bought my meager share. No Grivot, though.
I have less than no storage space and not enough spare money to buy wine, but I had to make an exception in this case; it was a no-brainer buy with the only question being how many to get…
Was there today for the Jura selection. I believe there are still a few 2008 Jamet Cote Rotie Cote Brune for $79.99. I picked up the last $39 version and didn’t see any D’Angerville Meursault Santenots.
State Line is the highest volume wine store/liquor store in the state of MD. I believe it is also one of the ten highest volume in America. There are reasons for this: not just price but phenominal selection. A great store that is worth a long drive.
Also, I believe this was once recognized by Philadelphia Magazine as “smuggler’s wine,” one of the best wine stores in the “greater Philadelphia area.”
