I had '99 and '01 Jame(t) last night. Both are drinking really well with my preference to the 99 for it’s deeper and more complex profile.
I got smoked on Zachys auction for 6x of the 1995s. $2600 hammer price. I tried to get em cheap!
1999 definitely > 2001.
Now thinking of sending off a bunch of my 95s to auction, given extremely obscene $$$ being fetched.
Thanks! I will lay them down for some serious time.
Yes I’m talking about Jean Paul Jamet.
I had a similar experience with the 2013. Loads of green pepper when first popped and not particularly thrilling. Drank about a quarter of it and 6 hours later (and a couple jostles in my bag) it was incredible. These things just need a lot of air.
Echoing Fu’s note on these needing a lot of air. Definitely a beauty after at least 10-15 years of age, lesser green notes, much more structured elegance.
Thanks!
I also have 6btls 2010. But I guess they are in the tunnel right now. Waiting some more years for them.
I wanted to catch the 2015 before it closed down, and since I had a halfbottle I wanted to try, but it was a bad choice.
