Jadot Opens New Winery in Burgundy
Maison Louis Jadot inaugurated Burgundy’s most modern winemaking facility in early June before 350 guests, including Jadot’s American owners–Patricia Colagiuri, Sue Mueller and Brenda Helies. They’re the daughters of Rudolph C. Kopf, the founder of New York-based importer Kobrand Corp., which his daughters still control.
The futuristic, circular, $8 million winery is lined with 80 tanks of a total capacity equal to 220,000 cases. In the inner circle stand wooden cuvees used for making top wines from smaller parcels, such as grands crus. The outer circle consists of larger stainless steel tanks.
Winemaker Jacques Lardière asked for this layout, intended to ease the task of making Jadot’s many wines–up to 140 different bottlings in some vintages. Beneath the 33,333-square-foot winery is a fermentation cellar and an aging cellar with a capacity of 6,000 barriques.

Thanks Leo for that very prompt research ! I was motivated by Don Cornwell’s research that shows 2000 as the dividing line for premox with Jadot and was wondering if different handling in the new cuverie was a contributor.
