Its Friday, guess what we're drinking?

Having a very enjoyable wine as we sit in the bar, play on our laptops, watch the Giants game and hope nobody comes in to interrupt us. neener

What’s everyone else drinking ?

Jade Mountain Mourvèdre 2005
Ancient Vines (1890!)
Evangelho Vineyard
Contra Costa Cty, CA

$16
This is a wonderful wine. Fairly deep red-brown. Nice nose, fruit and a bit of leather. Medium body, silky palate. Noes of raspberry, blackberry, spice, and pepper. Beautiful balance, good length. A complete pleasure to drink, almost floats into your mouth.

Question: Anybody know if this is still being made? I find no hits for later vintages on the web, and their website doesn’t mention it.

Peter,
They do a Mouvedre blend but not straight Mouvedre, unless they have it hidden and don’t want to sell it. If you Google Jade Mountain Mourvèdre 2005 or 2006, there are some places that still have both listed.

Thanks. I’m just worried that they might have (shudder) replanted or something. Four years is a while…

Okay, if T-Bone had been on here, he’d have known my go to wine is Ketcham Pinot Noir. Kind of an aside to Leenda’s anti-label thread, the Ketcham has the concentrated fruit and body required for my slutty red palate.

I’ll let you know on Friday! rolleyes

Agrapart & Fils Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Mineral 2002
Nit de Nin Nit de Nin Priorat 2005
And (a glass of) Laville Haut Brion Blanc 1985

For you Randy!

Brought home a case of my summer wine last night. Chateau Lancyre Pic St. Loup Rose’ 2009…put a bottle in the fridge this morning. We’ll have that with some Humboldt Fog left over from Friday when I get home tonight.

T-Bone, you left too early.

btw, I don’t carry this wine, I ordered the case for myself because we love it soooooo much!

Is it too early to start talking about rose? flirtysmile

Ricca’s got me salivating after reading the CT reviews of earlier vintages of his Lancyre. We’ve got a bunch of '09 Ameztoi Txakolina already on deck, but the Pic St. Loup sounds like an interesting alternative to that…

Opened one last night Steve.
Just as it always is, strawberry, mineral, racy, sexy, acidity!

Last night dinner with friends & family at El Dorado Kitchen in Sonoma. Dinner was really good, Braised Short Ribs for me & Bacon wrapped Pork Tenderloin for Randy.
Wines:
Aubert Chardonnay
Kongsgaard The Judge
'04 Leonetti Merlot
'05 Delas 2005 Cote Rote La Landonne
'03 Merus
Didn’t get to the Martinelli Jackass Zin.

Aubert was great, Judge good but expected more from it, Cote Rotie really good but young, Merus needs more time (decanted for 2+hours) Leonetti not as good as I remembered. Fun night overall.
