It's Friday, 10/02/09...What Is Everyone Drinking This Weekend?

Absolutely no plan what-so-ever for me. Will be on the fly picks every night.

At a tasting this Saturday:

2005 Marcassin Three Sisters Vineyard Chardonnay
2006 Staglin Family Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
2007 Walter Hansel Chardonnay
2007 Walter Hansel Pinot Noir

For balance I’ll be bringing a 2006 Novy Susan’s Hill Syrah

Mambo Italiano Saturday night with our regular tasting group and then something on Sunday afternoon to go with osso bucco (suggestions welcome!)…

Islay single malt. I got a cold.

Orujo.

I picked up a bottle of Trader Joe’s 12 year single malt I’m itching to try out…

Bit iffy given the heat, but at a guess:
2001 Ojai, Roll Ranch, Syrah
2005 Tablas, Esprit, blanc
2003 Tablas, Esprit
That’s aside form the obligatory Carlisle, which I actually drank yesterday, but there are extra bottles around in case the above wines don’t deliver.

Four bottles including an obligatory bottle and ‘extras’ - Peter most definitely is Scandinavian! [berserker.gif]

If last night counts, 2002 Chambolle-Musigny A.C. Roumier

Thursday night is the start of the weekend.

Tonight something Italian, don’t know about tomorrow, but I do know what I wish I was doing!

Tonight an 06 KB RRV pinot.

I believe a KB offering us coming up in the next couple of weeks and I need to fine out where my “walk away” price-point is.

'07 SVD offer hits on Monday. $78 a bottle before shipping and taxes.

A tasting of Burlotto and Ceretto Baroli tonight. Not sure about the other nights.

Rick - which Cerettos??

For that … I’d better LOVE my pinot tonight!

Changed my mind. Think I might bring a bottle of Mugnier '06 to dinner instead . . .

Not sure, actually. It’s a monthly group and others are putting this one together. Just 8 wines, 4 cerettos (95, 90, 89, 85) and I think it’s the Brunate, but I’m not certain. I’ll post notes tomorrow. I’ve only had a couple of the Ceretto wines and none of the Burlotto Monvigliero, so this should be fun.

Tonight:
Provencal Herb Flank Steak Caesar Salad
2005 Frédéric Magnien Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes

Tomorrow:
Pork Rib Caps (debating on doing them with a Marsala Sauce) over Polenta with grilled asparagus.
Probably some CdP or Pinot… haven’t decided.

1995 Sterling Reserve Cabernet

'95 California Cab was my first love (Mondavi Reserve Cab to be exact) and she has never let me down. Tonight is no different. May even light up a cigar on the deck.

Cheers to everyone.

Today with oysters at lunch, a 2007 Montesierra Rosé of Garnacha and Tempranillo from the Somontano region of Spain.

The rest of the week end is TBD.
