That is my pet peeve on this forum…people put up something for sale (example: “2016 Shafer HSS, $275”…then at some point, they sell the wine and change the original post to “Gone”, or “Sold”, and if you didn’t happen to see the original post, you have no idea what the transaction was even for! @ToddFrench it would be so much better if people posting something for sale in CC left the original post up, and they could just edit the post and add “Sold” or “Gone” at the end…Just having a post that reads “Sold” or “Gone” with nothing else makes no sense…

Ah damn - $550 is a great price for that. Thanks for letting me know!

Normally I agree with you, and I’ve left many completed CC listings up for everyone to ooh and aah at for decades to come, but sometimes the seller doesn’t want to leave a digital footprint and that’s their prerogative. Snooze you lose.

But my point isn’t that I am dissapointed in missing out on a particular deal, I could care less about that…I agree, you snooze you lose…but it helps the community overall to have info on pricing and what prices are being asked for specific wines, and what they ended-up selling for. It does the larger community no good to see a post that simply says “Gone” or “Sold”…And to your point about leaving a digital footprint for decades to come, I agree with you there as well, but to me, the better option is to just delete the entire post, rather than just edit it to say “Gone” or “Sold”…Just my two cents…

It’s up to the OP and if he/she chooses to keep the price there - as many do, many do not

It also stops the PMs from coming as not everyone reads the whole post to see it marked as “sold”

“I agree with you there as well, but to me, the better option is to just delete the entire post”

Not sure if it’s the same on the new site but we couldn’t just delete an entire thread if there was at least 1 response

Yea, I could see that being a PITA, but it’s easy to edit the header of the post to say “Sold”, but leave the original info of the offer in the body of the post, that way people don’t need to read all the way to the bottom…but people are free to do as they please
