We are taking a cruise next summer that starts in Istanbul and ends in Athens. We are planning to spend four nights in each city with the cruise in the middle. Does anyone have any recommendations for nice centrally located hotels in each city?
We liked the Athens Gate Hotel. Nothing fancy but the view couldn’t be beat when up on the top. Nice view daytime and nighttime . And food was solid .
Not sure of your budget, but my wife and I spent two weeks in Greece with two nights in Athens. We splurged to stay at The Grand Bretagne in the central part of Athens.
Very close to the Acropolis and the Plaka neighborhood. It’s also part of the Marriott network if that matters for points or something else. Great hotel and their restaurant is on the rooftop. Can’t beat the view of the Acropolis from there.
Our friends stayed at the nearby AVA Boutique Hotel. Not as expensive but still rated 4 stars. They liked it.
Tomtom suites in Istanbul. It on the European side but walking distance to the bridge. It is also close to Boğazkesen Street which has many stores and local restaurants. We dined at Nicole, a very nice restaurant at the hotel.
