Subject says it all. I am trying to organize a vertical tasting of Bernard Levet Côte-Rôtie La Chavaroche at the end of September. I have recent vintages but am looking for things with more age for a good comparison. Thanks in advance!
Jimmy - keep in mind that cuvee is called La Péroline in the rest of the world if you’re searching…
I should probably be embarrassed to admit that I did not realize that the cuvee went by La Péroline in the rest of the world. Thanks for the information. Probably a stupid question, but do you know the reasoning behind the different names?
I have no idea, but probably a decision by Rosenthal.
here’s the Levet entry from JLL:
Actually, according to JLL, the regular Cote Rotie is called La Chavaroche, no? Thus not the same as La Peroline, which I myself have never seen offered.
No, the wording/phrasing in that paragraph from the book is indeed confusing.
Peroline = Chavaroche
Here, JLL, is clearly clear.
You can readily find Peroline in France and in their charming shop right in the town of Ampuis, as I have.
